Gallery Space for Lease

Calling all artists, designers, photographers and creatives....We have a recently renovated, unique and light filled Gallery Space available for lease within the Blush Creative collaborative space located in the Como Centre, South Yarra. We are currently taking applications from artists interested in doing a solo exhibition and from curators wanting to arrange a group show.
The Gallery space is flexible and suitable for a variety of art mediums and different installations. All types of submissions are welcome. Please email or call (03) 9826 8655.
Special Introductory offer only $500 per week for a one month booking!! Save $2000! Our normal casual rates are $1000 + GST per week. Minimum booking is one week.

We also have lockable glass display cabinets available for lease (from $100 per week) suitable for small artworks, sculptures and jewellery. Display cases can be hired either as part of the whole exhibition (as an add-on) or on their own (independent of an exhibition) at a minimum rental term of one week.

Gallery Specifications:  
Total space - 55.8 square metres (approximately 8.2 x 6.8m)
It has 2 large windows overlooking Toorak Road.
Free WiFi for guests and Artists/Curator at the venue.
Flexible lighting to suit different applications - there is a mixture of natural light, plus ceiling downlights for an overall even lighting, plus (on a further 2 separate switches) 12 directional adjustable spot lights with long cords mounted onto hooks on the ceiling.
Clean white walls and dark grey floorboards.
Professional hanging system on all main walls.
Power and outgoings included (an additional fee may be charged for high voltage installations) 
Gallery space has a sink with hot and cold water, a small bench with underneath storage which is helpful for Opening Night drinks catering etc.

Gallery normal opening hours: Tuesday - Friday 11 am until 6pm. Saturday 11 am until 5pm. Closed Sunday/Monday. These hours can be extended or altered upon prior arrangement with Gallery management.
Lease of the Gallery Includes:
Use of the full Gallery space for the duration of your exhibition.
The possibility of displaying artwork or an installation in the front retail shop window and/or the 2 large windows overlooking Toorak Road (subject to approval by Gallery management)
Signage (a Poster to promote the exhibition) hanging in a gold frame in the front window of the Blush Creative space for the duration of the show (artist is responsible for cost of printing this poster as well as any other artwork/invitations needed for the show. Poster design and all graphic design and artwork must be pre-approved by Gallery management).
Use of the Gallery space to hold an Opening Night event - please note that any time after 6pm will be charged at a rate of $150 per hour. Artist/Curator will be fully responsible for the catering, staffing, management, set up of the Opening Night event and also for the full cleanup of the space afterward.
No commission is payable to the Gallery provided the exhibition is staffed by the artist/curator during all normal opening hours. If you require Gallery management to staff the exhibition on your behalf then we would charge 20% commission on pieces sold by Gallery management.
Exhibitions commence on a Wednesday and finish the following Tuesday (Bump in and set up of the exhibition happens Tuesday (the day before the show starts) from 12-6pm. Bump out is on the Wednesday (the day after the show finishes) between 12-4pm. Any additional time required for the set-up or pack down of the exhibition will be charged at a rate of $150 per hour.
Easy access via a loading dock and elevator.
Access to up to 20 chairs and 2 small tables as required for artist presentations or talks.
Important Notes:
Please note that the artist/curator is solely responsible for the transport of all artworks (both pre and post exhibition).
All breakages or damage must be paid for by the artist/curator. A bond may be required in some situations. Gallery must be returned to pre-exhibition condition by the end of the pack down period.
If an artwork has sold and is to be delivered or shipped to the buyer, the artist/curator is solely responsible for all arrangements and costs involved in this.
The artist/curator is solely responsible for the full set up and pack down of the exhibition (during the allocated time frames).
The artist/curator is responsible for making sure that all artworks are fully insured for the whole duration of the show.
The artist/curator is solely responsible for all of the marketing, social media and promotion of the show. (Gallery management may promote on their social media sometimes to help out too).
The full cost of the Gallery space rental is payable upfront and prior to set up of the exhibition. A 25% (of the total lease cost) fee is required to confirm your booking.
Cancellations will incur a 25% fee if cancelled after the deposit has been paid.

PR / Media
Photography (event, artist profile photo, artworks etc) and Videography
Graphic Design and Printing of Exhibition fliers, posters, invitations etc
Hair and Makeup Services
Marketing / Promotion of the Exhibition on social media or to the Gallery Manager's database of 20,000
